Online ride hailing

Online ride hailing, also known as online reservation taxi service, refers to the business activity of building a service platform based on Internet technology, connecting qualified vehicles and drivers, integrating supply and demand information, and providing non touring reservation taxi services.
On May 31, 2016, the Ministry of Education and the National Language Commission released the "Report on the State of Chinese Language Life (2016)" in Beijing, and "ride hailing services" was selected as one of the top ten new words. In February 2018, the General Office of the Ministry of Transport issued the Management Measures for the Operation of the Network Reservation Taxi Supervision Information Exchange Platform.
On June 5, 2018, the Ministry of Transport, the Cyberspace Administration of the People's Republic of China, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Public Security, the People's Bank of China, the State Administration of Taxation, and the State Administration for Market Regulation jointly issued the Notice on Strengthening the Work of Joint Supervision during and After the Event in the Online Booking Taxi Industry, clarifying the workflow of joint supervision during and after the event in the online car hailing industry.
